No Needles!

Today Kowin met with his endocrinologist. Every 4-6 months he gets his hormone, glucose, and electrolyte levels checked. In order to do this, they draw blood. Normally he is a very strong boy. Except for today. Not only was he tired, but the phlebotomist missed the vein and had to move it around a little. I felt bad. As soon as Kowin got in the car, he was out for the whole ride home.

I should also mention that Kowin LOVES to bounce in his crib. He holds onto the side while he bounces and shakes the crib. In so doing this, he has broken his crib. The railing that is supposed to slide down and make it easy to pick the babies up is now completely off. Therefore, last night Kowin had to sleep in my. We didn't get to sleep until after 12(yes midnight)That would explain why he took an early nap and even went to bed at seven.(but I won't complain about an early bedtime)

We will find out shortly if Kowin has any problems with his blood tests. So far there haven't been any problems, and we are truly blessed. In the blind community they call Kowin a "Vanilla" blind child. Only because his only health issues are his eyes. With most vision impairments there are other health problems. Like I said before, we are blessed.
