Kowin has been saying some funny stuff lately. I posted one story recently on our family blog. I want everyone to read the stories, and I don't think too many people look at Kowin's page. But it's a "Kowin" story, so I am posting it on Kowin's page.

So this morning we were talking about all the animal sounds.
Me: What does a horsey say?
Kowin: neeiiigh
What does a duck say?
Quack Quack
What does a doggy say?
Woof Woof
*there's a pause as I try to think of the next animal* then Kowin says,
What does the pop machine say?
*laughing* I don't know what does a pop machine say?

I wish he had an answer, but he just started laughing. It was cute. But really? A pop machine? Where did he get that from? We always say soda instead of pop, and I can't remember the last time I used a "pop machine"

6 months later

Wow, has it really been that long since my last post? I guess I haven't kept up on Kowin's sight, like I would have liked. I am putting more of him and Henry on our family site. Not a bad thing, but I should probably write a little about Kowin on his site. Bare with me, cause it's long compared to the norm.

I cannot believe that next week he is starting school. We are officially done with Early Intervention programs and have graduated into the school district. I have mentioned that I am a little nervous about this. I know the teachers will be great and that Kowin will learn to love them. I just want the transition to be easy on him. And we are definitely going to miss the educators that helped Kowin come so far. Even though he is an older brother now, he is my little boy. He has been cuddling a ton lately. He loves to give me kisses and make me laugh. The way he dances is constantly changing. Each new move surprises me and keeps me laughing.

I never know how Kowin is going to take to change. The other day when we moved a desk into the family room. He ran right into it. Normally in the past I guide him around the new furniture, let him feel it and explain what it is. Recently he gets around so well on his own I didn't even think about it. Anyway, when we brought Henry home I was a little scared that he would freak out when he heard the baby cry. Nope. He is doing great. He will mimmic my words when Henry cries... "Henry it's okay"... "Shhhhh Henry" .... "Awww what's wrong Henry" I love hearing his sweet voice. Whenever he approaches Henry he is cautious and very gentle. I love it.

Having two boys is just so fun. And Kowin is a good older brother. I watch Henry looking at him sometimes. And I can't wait to watch them grow and play together. Kowin has a very sweet heart, and I hope that Henry is full of love and understanding.

As for Henry. He is one happy baby! I love it. He is growing fast. He's gettin' chub all over. I have already mentioned in our family blog that he has a strong spirit. That hasn't changed. I feel it everyday. He is special. And I don't think it's just to me(his mom) As he grows, I know people will get a chance to feel it as well. I hope as their mom I can be the example and teacher they need. I know it won't be easy, and at times I doubt myself... but I LOVE being their mom.

I might have mentioned this before...

But Kowin LOVES trucks. He asks everyday to go in the truck(or swimming, but we'll talk about the truck stuff) I don't know when or how it all started. When it started snowing Tyler would take him on the four wheeler while he plowed. Even though he probably frozen he could spend all day on that thing.

Then around the house he started associated anything with a rounded handle as a truck. Either he's really confused or he has a good imagination. I'm hoping the second. It cracks me up when he climbs in the baskets and starts making truck noises. Sadly one time he got the basket/truck too close to the stairs and went for a little ride, down!(on my defense I can say that his dad was watching him)

Kowin's New Thing

Kowins new thing is to throw all the toys out of the toy box. He doesn't really play with them until they're all out on the floor. Then he takes one toy at a time and throws them down the stairs to hear what kind of noise they will make. I'm not too against this because it has given us a chance to start teaching him that he needs to also pick up his toys and put them away(which is not yet mastered)

Picture of the Day

I wish I was so good at blogging that I could take a picture a day, download it and talk about it. But that probably won't ever happen. It has been a long while since I have posted any pictures of Kowin on his page. So I'm about to make up for lost time.
We LOVE Beanies!
Now we have to work on the gloves

Sweet Dreams

Just another picture that makes me smile. Gotta love the legs. My favorite thing about Kowin sleeping, aside from the quiet time, is that he always wakes up smiling.

The Park

Whenever we go to the park Kowin only likes one toy. This is it. And this one didn't swing or rock too much, so he walked around most the time. In the end he was sitting in the sand throwing it up in the air and getting it all over him.

Grandma & Grandpa Sperry's

Kowin loves playing on this riding toy. He is all over the place. I just have to make sure he doesn't fall down the hill.
We love hanging out with Grandma & Grandpa. Kowin makes me laugh with how relaxed he looks. Aaww the life to be able to lay down and get dessert fed to you.

Couch Climbing

Here is Kowin climbing over the couch, I think I have mentioned this before. Now I have a picture & video. So for all you Kowin fans... enjoy!
Never mind... the video didn't download, I'll try later.

Lessons from a Binki Professional

In this video Kowin's cousin, Ethan, is helping him get his binki in his mouth. Ethan has always had a helping nature. I love how he gets the binki in Kowin's mouth and then lays down next to him to hold his hand. Too Cute!

Kowin's Video Archive

Looking back he looks so little. He was around 10 months old. I totally forgot about all our old video clips. You might be seeing more

Boo Boo's & Band Aids

Kowin scrapped his knee for the first time. Not too bad. He took it well and we didn't even need a band aid. I remember when my niece MacKenzie was 2 or 3, she scrapped her knee really bad. Then sat there with her knee close to her face looking at her small injury saying, "Go Away.. Go Away" in a little whimper. Too Cute.
Kowin has now learned to climb over the couch and go down the other side without falling. I was always apprehensive to let him do this, 1st because I thought he would fall really bad because he can't see how far the floor is. And 2nd because I don't want him doing this at other people's houses. Anyway... I let him do it. I decided he has to learn to listen to me when I say he's only an inch of the floor that it's okay to let go. For him it is very thrilling. For me it is just fun to watch.

One Year Ago

One year ago. Kowin swinging for the first time. He loved it. We went to the park a lot after this day.
I have a video, but it won't download. I will try again later.

2 Year Check Up

I forgot about this picture... but not the experience. We went to Kowin's 2 year check up. Everything went well. Got his finger pricked to test his iron. Went home and got a call that his iron tests were really off and we would have to come back to prick his finger again. Ok. 2 minutes later the nurse calls again. We now need to go to the big hospital because their machine might not be working. Ok. So I pack up Kowin and drive down to the hospital. In order to get to the Lab you go through the ER... and they have to Admit you!!! Never done that before for lab work. (and we do lots of lab work between the two of us) It took 30 minutes to get admitted. In the lab, the routine is normal except for the way the phlebotomist wants me to hold Kowin. I've never had to hold him down before. So he probably wasn't too comfortable. The girl pocked his arm three times with no luck. The next lady came in and got it done her first time. In the end I think a 5 minute process ended up taking an hour. As we were driving home I noticed I had a new voice mail. Checked it. It was the nurse that called before, saying that I didn't have to go to the hospital after all. I could have gone to the clinic. Are you serious?!?!?
Whenever Kowin gets his blood drawn, he always falls asleep on the way home. After this picture he was out for the whole night. What a BAD day!

Crazy Kowin

Kowin plays with pens or markers by rubbing them across his face. It looks kind of funny, but he loves it. People think I am crazy for giving him this type of "toy" because the lid could come off and make a big mess. That has never happened.... until now! He found this marker on the floor while I was working on a project and somehow got the lid off. It made me laugh to see gold metallic marker all over his face. There goes that easy entertaining toy.
